New Delhi. The weather has once again taken a turn amid the withdrawal of monsoon. Due to the movement of the deep cyclonic system ‘Arnab’ (Deep Depression / Cyclone Arnab System), which formed over the Bay of Bengal and moved rapidly towards the land areas, there has been a sudden increase in seasonal activities in large parts of the country. After hitting the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, this weather system is now bringing huge amount of moisture into the atmosphere of central and north-west India.
According to the latest forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and private weather agency Skymet, due to the interaction of this cyclonic system and Western Disturbance, there are chances of strong thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain in more than 15 states including the national capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand.
There has been light cloud movement in the sky since morning in the capital Delhi and surrounding NCR areas (Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad). According to the Meteorological Department, as the day progresses, the area of partial clouds will increase and gusty winds can blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km/hour in the afternoon or evening.

temperature: The maximum temperature can be recorded around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 24 degrees Celsius. The weather will be pleasant in the morning and late night.
The most obvious effect of ‘Arnab’s inland movement (entering the interior areas) is being seen in Uttar Pradesh. Monsoon clouds have once again become fully active in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Terai areas:

Purvanchal and Central UP (Yellow/Orange Alert): Warning of moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning has been issued at many places in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Sonbhadra, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Lucknow. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km/hour.

Bundelkhand and Western UP: There is a possibility of thunder and heavy showers in the areas of Banda, Chitrakoot, Jhansi and Lalitpur. Western Uttar Pradesh (Meerut, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Agra) will remain cloudy with light rainfall at some places.

Bihar: Yellow alert has been issued for rain with thunder and lightning in most of the districts of South and East Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnia and Muzaffarpur. Farmers working in open fields have been advised to be cautious.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh: Due to the strong activity of the system, intermittent heavy rainfall may continue in Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Jabalpur, Bilaspur and Raipur divisions.

Odisha and Andhra Pradesh: Although the cyclonic system has crossed the coast, local administration is on high alert due to waterlogging and heavy rains in interior areas of Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam and Visakhapatnam.

Hill States (Uttarakhand and Himachal): In view of the possibility of cloud rain in Dehradun, Nainital and Chamoli districts and landslides in high altitude areas, passengers have been instructed to travel with caution.
In view of lightning and sudden heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the people not to take shelter under trees, dilapidated walls and electric poles during bad weather.
Farmers have been advised to keep their harvested crops covered in safe warehouses or sheds in areas where Kharif crops have been harvested so that the grains do not get spoiled due to moisture. Avoid waterlogged underpasses in cities and check local weather bulletins before setting out on daily journeys.
