Singer AR Ameen, son of AR Rahman, was involved in a car accident in Chennai on Monday morning, August 10. According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the Olympia Tech Park signal in Guindy. Importantly, he did not suffer any major injuries. He was taken to Kauvery Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
What information came to light?
According to a Times of India report, the accident occurred when AR Amin was traveling from Koyambedu to the city. Amin’s car collided with another vehicle near the busy Kathipara flyover. Police say Amin’s accident occurred when a Wagon-R car allegedly veered from a side road onto the main road and collided with Amin’s Porsche.
Following the accident, both were taken to Kauvery Hospital for treatment and were later discharged and returned home. The Wagon-R passenger injured in the accident was taken to Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital. The occupants were later treated and discharged. Police have seized vehicles from both sides of the accident scene as part of the investigation process by the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing. A case has also been registered, and officials are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the accident.

AR Ameen is pursuing his own music career. He made his playback singing debut in 2015 with Mani Ratnam’s song “O Kadhal Kanmani.” He also sang the song “Maula Salli Vasallam.” Since then, he has worked in various languages and genres. He has also performed with his father, AR Rahman, during his international concert tours. Ameen has recently been involved in several music projects.
