Before this, he had been Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand twice. Apart from this, he was once sent to Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh on behalf of YSR Congress.

Big name in the industry

Apart from being famous in politics, Parimal Nathwani is also a well-known name in the business world. He is the Director of Corporate Affairs at Reliance Industries Limited. He has worked closely with Dhirubhai Ambani and Mukesh Ambani and has also been involved in land acquisition for the world’s largest oil refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Parimal Nathwani has led many projects in Reliance. He has played an important role in the establishment of Reliance Industries’ refinery in Jamnagar. He is said to be close to Mukesh Ambani.

How much is the property?

Parimal Nathwani is the candidate with the highest assets in Jharkhand Rajya Sabha Election 2026. According to the letter filed with the Election Commission, he has total assets worth Rs 754.86 crore, while his annual income is Rs 35.70 crore. He provides professional services to Reliance Industries, in return for which he earns an income of Rs 24.99 crore every year. Apart from this, his wife’s annual income is Rs 4.09 crore.

Won by cross voting in 2008

Parimal Nathwani is an old face of Jharkhand politics. He had won elections from Jharkhand in 2008 and 2014. Coming out of the industry, he first contested the Rajya Sabha elections in 2008 from Jharkhand as an independent candidate. He got the support of MLAs from different political parties. Even at that time, cross voting had made his path easier. RJD MLAs had cross-voted in his favor.

BJP sent Rajya Sabha in 2014

In 2014, Parimal Nathwani did not have to contest as an independent. BJP and AJSU supported him. He won this election unopposed. With this victory, he was elected Rajya Sabha MP for the second consecutive time. Apart from this, Parimal Nathwani also got a chance to reach Rajya Sabha in the year 2020. However, this time he was elected to Rajya Sabha not with the support of BJP but with the support of YSR Congress Party from Andhra Pradesh. With this he was elected to Rajya Sabha for the third consecutive time.

Will he become MP for the fourth time?

This time, like in 2008, BJP has supported Parimal Nathwani as an independent. NDA and BJP are making all efforts for his victory. Along with this, the opposition has also fielded a candidate against him. The grand alliance with Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is trying to stop Parimal Nathwani. At present the Grand Alliance has the support of 56 MLAs and this is enough to win two seats. In such a situation, Parimal Nathwani can win only through cross voting.
