Will Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP) support the government? Supriya Sule replied

NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule told a press conference on Wednesday that she had met Home Minister Amit Shah along with Asaduddin Owaisi and Arvind Sawant regarding the delimitation bill. He also said that if any bill is fair then we are not against it. Sule clarified that neither his party nor the India Alliance had ever demanded delimitation. Government should implement 33% women reservation.

Supriya Sule said in the press conference, ‘No bill proposal has come to us yet. Neither did we discuss anything about delimitation nor did anyone discuss with us. When the bill comes… then our stand will be clear but whatever bill comes, we will discuss it in detail in India Alliance.

So the thing stuck at 50%

He further said that India Alliance and NCP had not made any demand for delimitation. Our demand was to implement 33% reservation only for women. You (government) should fulfill the promise of giving reservation to women. Earlier, parties like DMK, SP and us had said that we will consider the issue of 50% quota. India alliance has not demanded delimitation.

In fact, the opposition parties are demanding that if there is a proposal to increase the number of seats by 50 percent, then they can consider supporting the delimitation bill. Supriya Sule has also given similar indications.

Supriya Sule has met Amit Shah

In the last budget session, Asaduddin Owaisi, me and Arvind Sawant were called by Kiren Rijiju. They were calling each party separately. We met the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah and Kiren Rijiju together. He made a proposal and later this proposal was discussed in the India Alliance. Under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, we had written a letter to Amit Shah requesting him to call us all together instead of calling us separately.
