Agra. The Indian women's cricket team performed brilliantly in the final of the Women's Asia Cup 2026 and won the title for a record 8th time. Thanks to half-centuries of Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana, India defeated Sri Lanka and captured the trophy.

Deepti Sharma's father has now expressed hope from the Indian women's team for a great performance in the Asian Games as well. He said that Indian players should maintain this form in the Asian Games to be held in Japan and win gold medal for the country.
