Technology Desk: Xiaomi has launched its new foldable smartphone Xiaomi 18 Fold in China. It is a book-style foldable phone, which when closed appears to be approximately the size of a passport. The phone has a large inner screen, powerful processor and Leica-tuned camera setup.
Price of Xiaomi 18 Fold
Xiaomi 18 Fold has been introduced in four storage variants. Its starting price is CNY 10,999 i.e. around Rs 1.55 lakh.
12GB + 256GB: CNY 10,999 (about Rs 1.55 lakh)
12GB + 512GB: CNY 11,999 (about Rs 1.69 lakh)
16GB + 512GB: CNY 12,999 (about Rs 1.83 lakh)
16GB + 1TB: CNY 14,999 (about Rs 2.11 lakh)
LPDDR6 RAM is provided in the top model of the phone. It has been launched in Black, Nishino Red and Warm Gold White colors.
7.58 inch large inner display
Xiaomi 18 Fold has a 5.38-inch AMOLED cover display on the outside. When you open the phone, you get a 7.58 inch foldable AMOLED screen. Both displays support 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits peak brightness.
Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 has been provided to protect the cover screen. Ultra-thin glass has been used in the inner screen.
Equipped with Xring O3 processor
For performance, Xiaomi's new 3nm Xring O3 AI flagship processor has been provided in the phone. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone works on HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.
200MP main camera
For photography, Xiaomi 18 Fold has a triple rear camera setup with Leica support. Its main camera is 200 megapixels, which supports OIS.
Apart from this, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera has been provided in the phone. It supports 3.5x optical zoom and 7x optical-quality zoom. The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide lens. For selfies and video calls, 16MP front cameras are provided on both the inside and outside of the phone.
Large 6,000mAh battery
Xiaomi 18 Fold has a 6,000mAh battery. The phone supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. That is, despite the big screen and powerful hardware, the phone has good battery capacity.
