Over 1 Billion Health Records Linked To Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts

India has achieved a major achievement in extending the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme to more and more citizens and expanding digital health services. More than 100 crore health records have now been linked to Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) accounts.

Among the states, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat have shown remarkable performance in linking health records under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). This achievement is considered an important step towards building an integrated, citizen-centric and interconnected digital health system in the country.

The most special thing about ABDM is that there has been a rapid increase in registrations under it in the last few months. According to estimates, this number has doubled in the last one and a half years.

According to the statement issued by the Health Ministry, “The number of linked health records was 50 crore in February 2025, which has increased to more than 100 crore in just 15 months. Currently, about 10 crore new health records are being added to ABHA every two to three months. This journey, which started with less than 1,000 records, has reached more than 100 crore records today, making ABDM the world’s largest digital health ecosystem.” Has become one of.”

This project is being implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA) working under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This progress indicates rapid adoption of ABDM by government health schemes, state level health platforms, public digital systems and private health technology partners. Currently more than 450 public and private health technology solutions have been successfully integrated with the ABDM system.

ABHA works as a unique digital health ID. Through this, citizens can securely connect and access their health records, such as information related to hospitals, clinics, labs and other healthcare providers.

Commenting on the achievement, Sunil Kumar Baranwal, Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, said, “The integration of over 100 crore health records with ABHA is an important milestone in the journey of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. It symbolizes the growing use of digital health services by government schemes, state governments, health institutions and private technology partners.”

“ABHA-linked health records provide citizens with secure and consent-based access to their health information, while helping to maintain continuity of treatment across the health system,” he added.
