Health Desk. People often ignore headaches as the result of fatigue or stress, but frequent, severe headaches can be associated with migraine. Some other symptoms may also appear along with pain in migraine. It is important to recognize these, especially when the problem is recurring.
1. Severe and throbbing headache
Migraine pain sometimes feels like throbbing and may be concentrated in one part of the head. This pain may also increase with physical activity.
2. Trouble with light and sound
During migraine, bright lights, mobile or TV screens and loud noises may seem uncomfortable. Many people find relief in being in a quiet and dark place.
3. Problem of nausea or vomiting
Nausea or vomiting along with headache can also be a common sign of migraine. In some people this symptom appears before or during the headache.
4. Glare or blurred vision
Some people may have a condition called aura before a migraine. In this, symptoms like flashing lights in front of the eyes, crooked lines or difficulty in seeing for some time may be felt.
5. Feeling tired and dizzy
Weakness, fatigue, dizziness, or trouble concentrating may also occur during or around a migraine. However, these symptoms can also occur due to many other reasons.
Keep in mind: Not every headache is a migraine. If the headache is recurring, very severe or is affecting everyday activities then it is better to consult a doctor. If you suddenly have symptoms like the worst headache of your life, difficulty in speaking, weakness in any part of the body or fainting, seek medical help immediately.
