Pahalgam Attack 1st Anniversary: ​​PM Modi paid tribute, said- India will not bow before terrorism

New Delhi: On the first anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the victims and expressed deep condolences to their families. He described this attack as a burden on the conscience of the country and said that this tragedy can never be forgotten.

Posting on his official social media platform X, the Prime Minister made it clear that India is not going to bow down to any form of terrorism. He said that the entire country is united in mourning and resolve and the fight against terrorism will continue.

PM Modi’s emotional message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his post,"I am remembering the innocent people who lost their lives in the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam on this day last year. They will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with the bereaved families who are trying to come to terms with this loss."

he adds, "As a nation, we are united in grief and determination. India will never bow down to any form of terrorism. The heinous plans of terrorists will never succeed."

22 April 2025: When a horrific incident took place in Pahalgam

It is noteworthy that on April 22, 2025, terrorists attacked Pahalgam in South Kashmir and shot dead 26 people. Most of these included tourists. This attack shocked the entire country and there was widespread anger.

India’s action under Operation Sindoor

In response to this attack, India on 7 May "operation vermilion"Started military action under. In this operation, many terrorist hideouts present in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) were targeted and destroyed.

Strict message from Indian Army

Just minutes before the Prime Minister’s post, the Indian Army also issued a strong message on X. The Army said that the answer to any action against India is certain and justice will be given under any circumstances.

Even before this, the army had warned and said, "When the limits of humanity are crossed, the reaction becomes decisive."

Along with this, a symbolic picture related to Operation Sindoor was also shared.

Security arrangements increased in Pahalgam

In view of the anniversary of Pahalgam attack, Jammu and Kashmir administration has tightened security arrangements. Along with the deployment of additional security forces, surveillance has also been increased, so that the remembrance program can be conducted peacefully. Political leaders, civil society representatives and families of the victims are likely to attend the event.

Memorial built in Baisaran Valley

A memorial has been constructed in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam in memory of those who lost their lives in the attack. The black marble memorial bears the names of all 26 victims, including 25 tourists and a local pony driver, Adil Shah. This memorial is situated on the banks of Lidder river and remains the center of tribute.
