Suspicious death of judicial officer in Delhi: Body found hanging in bathroom
A heart-wrenching news has come out from Green Park of the capital Delhi. Aman Kumar Sharma, a 30-year-old judicial officer working as a full-time secretary in the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of north-east Delhi, was found dead in the bathroom of his home. Police suspect that it is a case of suicide, but the family members of the deceased have made serious allegations against his wife and in-laws.
Information about the incident was received at Safdarjung Enclave Police Station at around 1:45 pm today. Aman Kumar Sharma’s brother-in-law Shivam called the police and informed that his brother had committed suicide in the bathroom. When the police reached the spot, they found that the bathroom door was locked from inside. When entry was made by breaking the window, Aman’s body was found hanging from a cloth. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Aman Kumar Sharma’s father and family have expressed suspicion of a deep conspiracy and mental torture behind this incident. According to family members, Aman was quite upset due to the ongoing dispute with his wife for the last two months. It is reported that Aman’s wife Nidhi Malik is also a judicial officer, while his sister-in-law is an IAS officer posted in Jammu.
Aman’s father told that last night around 10 pm, Aman had called him and said crying, “I am very upset, it has become difficult for me to live.” The father immediately left for Delhi from Alwar and reached home at midnight.
According to the allegations made by the family members, the wife had maintained dominance in the house. According to the father’s statement, Aman had said that Nidhi Malik has complete control in the house and everything happens as per her wish. Aman was being continuously mentally tortured at home. The father said that when he tried to contact his in-laws for a solution, his number was blocked.
The family members claim that there was a lot of noise and argument in the house a few hours before the death. Aman was in one room and his wife was in another room. Relatives said, “She (Nidhi) was shouting loudly and Aman was crying.” After some time, when Aman was nowhere to be seen and his mobile rang, the phone was found ringing inside the bathroom, after which the incident came to light.
According to reports, Aman Kumar Sharma was a brilliant judicial officer. He earned his law degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2018 and joined the Delhi Judicial Service on June 19, 2021. Since October 2025, he was serving as DLSA Secretary of North-Eastern District in Karkardooma Court. Karkardooma Bar Association has also confirmed his posting.
Delhi Police has sent the body for postmortem and the case is being investigated from every angle. Police officials say, “In the initial investigation, it appears to be a case of suicide, but we are linking the statements of family members and the sequence of events. The exact cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report. No suicide note has been recovered yet.”
The death of Aman Kumar Sharma has left not only his family but the entire Delhi judiciary in deep shock. Police are now interrogating his call records and other family members so that the truth can come out.
