Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi attacked, stones fell near the stage during his speech
Patna: Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha chief Jitan Ram Manjhi has been attacked. Anti-social elements threw stones at him during a program in Gayaji district of Bihar. The incident took place in Khijarsarai on Friday evening. Manjhi was addressing a program of a private school there. Then suddenly stone pelting started.
The stones fell right near him, but he narrowly escaped. This incident has revealed a major lapse in their security. Police have detained two minor boys from the spot. Manjhi has received threats of attack earlier also. Just a few days ago, his Samadhan and our MLA Jyoti Devi were also attacked.
Police interrogated
According to media reports, Neemchak Bathani DSP Surendra Kumar Singh and SDO Keshav Anand were present in Khijrasarai at the time of the incident. Both the officers interrogated the boys who threw the stones. However, why the boys threw stones at Manjhi has not been revealed yet. The police is investigating the matter
There was chaos at the venue
As soon as the news of stone pelting on the Union Minister was received, there was panic in the administration and police department. Police from many police stations immediately reached the spot. There was an atmosphere of chaos at the venue for some time.
Manjhi said ‘some people do not want to let good work happen’
On this incident, Jitan Ram Manjhi said that we did not see what came and what went. Some people don’t want good work to happen. The same people are doing this. It is being told that the stones were thrown from a long distance.
Samdhan Jyoti Manjhi was also attacked
It is noteworthy that last Sunday, Jyoti Manjhi, MLA from Manjhi’s Samdhan and Gayaji’s Barachatti, was also attacked. Anti-social elements misbehaved with him near Gambhira village. During this period, there was a scuffle between the accused and the security personnel. The dispute took place regarding removal of the vehicle. It is alleged that the miscreants tried to break the glass of his car.
Threatening accused arrested
In fact, after the attack on Jyoti Manjhi, Jitan Ram Manjhi was openly threatened by releasing a video on Facebook. The accused used inflammatory language in the video. After the video went viral, the police of Gayaji cyber station swung into action and caught the accused within 48 hours. The name of the accused is said to be Rajesh Rao alias Sardar. He was arrested from Laherisarai police station area of Nalanda district. Police is interrogating him.
