Despite the flop show in IPL 2026, Aaqib Nabi’s entry in Team India, BCCI included him in the test squad.

Auqib Nabi: Before the one-off Test match against Afghanistan, Jammu and Kashmir’s star fast bowler Aaqib Nabi has joined the camp of the Indian team.

Auqib Nabi: A big news is coming out related to Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi, who could not perform as per expectations in IPL 2026. BCCI has included him in the Indian team camp before the only test match against Afghanistan. However, he has not been included in the official Test squad yet. According to reports, Nabi is training with Team India as a backup player.

Aaqib Nabi joins Indian camp

In fact, there was a lot of controversy over Aaqib Nabi Dar not being included in the Indian team for the only test against Afghanistan. The selection committee had decided to rest fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, but instead of giving a chance to Aaqib Nabi, Gurnoor Brar was selected in the team. Many cricket experts and fans had raised questions on this decision of the selectors. Now BCCI, taking a big decision, has included Nabi in the Team India camp as a net bowler. Although, he has not got a place in the 15-member main squad yet, but he is included in the list of reserve players along with Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar.

Had a great performance in Ranji Trophy

Aaqib Nabi played an important role in helping Jammu and Kashmir win the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 title. In this tournament, he took maximum 60 wickets while bowling lethally. Despite this brilliant performance, he did not get a place in the Indian team.

Aaqib’s performance in IPL 2026

On the basis of his explosive performance in Ranji Trophy, Delhi Capitals bought Aaqib Nabi for Rs 8.40 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2026. However, he could not perform as per expectations in his first season. This season he played 5 matches but during this he could not take even a single wicket.
