Sensational incident in Bengaluru, young man hanged after killing his mother, grandmother and maternal uncle.

Bengaluru. A sensational incident came to light on Saturday morning in Kottigepalya of Kamakshipalya police station area of ​​Bengaluru. A 34-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself in a room of his house after killing his mother, grandmother and maternal uncle with a sharp weapon. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police and forensic team reached the spot, collected evidence and started investigation.

The deceased have been identified as the accused’s mother Mangalamma, maternal grandmother Nanjamma and maternal uncle Satish, while the accused has been identified as Prashant. The incident took place around 8:30 am on Saturday, when the head of the family, Chikkanna, had gone to work as usual. A total of four other members including Prashant were present in the house at that time.

According to the preliminary investigation of the police, Prashant first attacked his maternal uncle Satish with a sharp weapon. Hearing the noise, he also attacked his mother Mangalamma and maternal grandmother Nanjamma, who came to his rescue. All three died on the spot due to serious injuries. After this, Prashant committed suicide by hanging himself in a room of the house.

On getting information about the incident, nearby people reached the spot and informed the police. Kamakshipalya police station and a team of forensic experts inspected the incident site and collected evidence. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Regarding the incident, the deceased’s father Chikkanna said that all the family members had dinner normally on Friday night and then slept. He said that no abnormality was seen in the son’s behaviour. He said emotionally, “If I had been at home at that time, perhaps he would not have left me either.”

Western Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Yatish, after inspecting the spot, said that a total of five members lived in the house, out of which four have died. Preliminary investigation has found marks of serious attacks with sharp weapons on the bodies of the three deceased. The police have also started investigating the scientific and technical aspects of the entire incident.

According to the police, preliminary information has revealed that Prashant was behaving abnormally for some time. Information has also been received about him being mentally unwell. However, the police have clarified that this aspect will be confirmed only after investigation and it is too early to reach any conclusion at this time.

A case has been registered at Kamakshipalya police station. Police are investigating the family circumstances, possible personal reasons and all other aspects to ascertain the real reason behind the incident. Post mortem report and forensic investigation findings will also be an important basis for research.
