20 year old student injured during Delhi CJP protest admitted to ICU, yet students’ morale is not broken

New Delhi: The situation still remains tense after the violent clashes that took place during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in the capital Delhi. According to sources, around 90 students who were injured during the protest were admitted to different hospitals, most of whom have been discharged after treatment. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old girl student has been admitted to the ICU of Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital as her condition is critical. It is being told that she was injured after colliding with the barricade during the police action.

Demand for resignation in protest

On Monday, there was a heated clash between the protesters and the police during the march taken out from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament. The protesters were demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over paper leak and other irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. Delhi Police claims that more than 118 policemen were injured during the violence and many government vehicles were damaged.

JP Nadda inquired about the well being of the students

On Tuesday, Union Health Minister JP Nadda reached RML Hospital and Lady Hardinge Hospital to inquire about the well-being of the injured protesters. He took information about the treatment from the doctors and later also met CJP leader. Let us tell you, yesterday the demands of unconditional release of Sonam Wangchuk, resignation of the Education Minister and compensation to the families of NEET candidates who committed suicide were placed before JP Nadda by CGP leaders. However, during this time, Nadda appealed to the protesters to cooperate with the administration by ending the ongoing dharna at Jantar Mantar and asked them to find a solution through talks.

Protests continue despite violence

Despite the violence, protesters again gathered at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday. The movement continued even after the tents and stage were removed by the police. In view of security, additional deployment of Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been made in the entire area.

On the other hand, Congress has also taken out a march to the Prime Minister’s residence in support of the students and has announced to provide legal aid to those arrested or injured during the protest. At the same time, Delhi Police has so far registered several FIRs on charges of violence, vandalism and damage to government property and further investigation is going on. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the culprits of the paper leak should be given strict punishment and the interests of the students are the top priority of the government.
