Delhi: After the end of the agitation at Jantar Mantar, DMRC opened all the metro stations, normal operations restored.

New Delhi, 25 July. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) opened the entry gates of all the stations of Delhi Metro network on Saturday evening after the end of the agitation going on for the last one month under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak issue. Normal operations have now been restored at all the stations that were temporarily closed due to security reasons.

DMRC gave information

DMRC posted on social media platform X, saying, ‘Entry gates of all metro stations of Delhi Metro network have now been opened.’

Services were restored at the first three stations

Earlier, after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the end of protests at Jantar Mantar, DMRC had announced the restoration of entry and exit services at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat metro stations.

18 Restrictions were imposed on stations

In view of the ongoing student protest and security arrangements at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue, DMRC had suspended entry and exit services at 18 metro stations in Central Delhi till further orders.

Entry-exit gates were closed at these stations

According to the DMRC advisory, the entry and exit gates of Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirtha, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan and New Delhi Metro stations were closed. Now normal operations have been restored at all these stations.

Agreement reached between government and CJP

Before this, CJP announced to end its ongoing agitation at Jantar Mantar in the afternoon. This decision was taken after three rounds of talks with the central government. Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Union Minister Jitendra Singh and CJP representatives Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were present in the joint press conference held in New Delhi. In the meeting, the government agreed to accept the major demands of the protesters.
