England Cricket Team: The responsibility of leadership in the England women’s cricket team will once again rest on Charlie Dean’s shoulders. In the absence of the team’s regular captain Knut Siver-Brunt, Dean has been handed England’s captaincy for the three-match ODI series against Ireland.
The series between the two teams will be played in September. Dean has also previously captained England in the ODI series against New Zealand. Siver-Brunt was out of the team due to injury at the time. Now once again Dean gets the opportunity to captain and will lead the team on the tour of Ireland.
England have rested many experienced players for this series. Syver-Brunt and Danny Wyatt-Hodge are working on their fitness and recovery, while Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Bell and Amy Jones have not made the squad. In such a situation, many young players will have a golden opportunity to strengthen their claim in the ODI team.
Kepsi will handle the responsibility of wicketkeeping
Alice Capsey will play the wicketkeeper role in the absence of Amy Jones. She was England’s reserve wicketkeeper in the recently held T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Grace Potts and Kira Chatli may get a chance to make their debut in international cricket. Both players have been part of the England set-up this summer.

Charis Pavelli is also in the race for an ODI debut. He has played two T20 Internationals for England so far. Apart from this, Rhianna McDonald-Gay has also been brought back into the team. She was out of the team last year due to a lower-back problem. This season he has performed well in county cricket as well as for Manchester Super Giants. Left-arm spinner Tilly Courtin-Coleman is also part of the squad. He has played two ODIs so far and both matches were against New Zealand.
When and where will the match be played?
The first ODI between England and Ireland will be played in Leicester on September 1. The second match is in Derby on September 3, while the third and final ODI will be held in Worcester on September 6. Young players will have a great opportunity to prove their talent in this series.
