Everything from food to sleep was bad in jail.
Sandeepa Virk recently did a podcast with TDM Manthan. During this, he shared his horrific experience of his jail days. During the conversation, when he was asked what was the worst and scariest experience in Tihar Jail. On this he told that everything there, from food to sleeping, was bad. There used to be fights in the canteen line and during checking one was stripped completely naked. He said, 'From food items, toilet, canteen, medical department to sleeping, everything in the jail was bad. Even if you were standing in the canteen line there, there used to be fights there too.
Further, when he was asked how different this jail is from the movie. So on this he said, 'The real jail is exactly like the movie, just as in the jail of the movies, the clothes of the prisoners are removed. Similarly, real prison clothes are removed. Just like it is shown in the movie that 'Come on, take off your clothes', the same was said in the real jail.
'We used to look down by shining a torch…
Further, he told about how the checking was done in the jail. He told that during checking in the jail, he was insulted and looked at his private parts with a torch. He said, 'During the checking in the jail, they insult and strip you naked. Used to look at the private parts of many girls by shining torches on them. Those people are not so shy that they make the prisoners remove all their clothes even in winter. What gold and silver will anyone go there? If someone has to take something, he will take it anyway.
When Sandeepa was asked how she emotionally endured this kind of checking, she said that there were only women there who used to do the checking naked. But I was not comfortable with him. He said, 'In the jail, only women used to remove their clothes and do the checking. I can be comfortable in front of my sister and mother, the way they see, I cannot be comfortable in front of 100 women.
Removed all clothes 27 times
Further, when the actress was asked how often and when such checking was done in the jail. On this he told that when a prisoner enters and goes out of the jail. There was checking at that time. Apart from this, when the police takes us to the court, then before boarding the bus, people were stripped and checked. He said, 'Checking was done by removing all the clothes 3 times a day. During my jail days, all the clothes were removed 27 times during checking.' Recalling the painful story of his jail days, he said that those who wonder what happened are seeing the girl.
