Jaideep Ahlawat On Replacing Akshaye Khanna
Talking about the pressure of replacing Akshaye Khanna at the trailer launch event in Goa, Jaideep said he never looked at the role as a replacement. “No, because when I heard the story, it did not feel like I was coming in place of Akshaye sir. A new character is being introduced. There is no point in taking that pressure. As far as comparison is concerned, I don’t think you think about that as an actor,” Jaideep said.
“The journey is different, the introduction is new, and a new relationship is going to be created with Meera and the Salgaonkar family. So, it is going to be a very individualistic approach to this character. I don’t think there was any pressure,” he added.
Khanna was originally expected to reprise his role in the third instalment. However, according to the producer, the actor quit the film 10 days before shooting began. Reports also claimed that Akshaye exited the project after the makers allegedly turned down his reported Rs 21 crore fee.
Meanwhile, actor Akshaye Khanna on Wednesday made a rare appearance in Mumbai. He was spotted by the paps in the city while coming out of a restaurant, and he happily posed for the shutterbugs. He was accompanied by actor Rajat Rawail.
Akshaye covered his head with a white scarf-like thing and flaunted his white stubble. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and blue denim.
Akshaye will next be seen in Mahakaliwhich is created by Hanuman fame filmmaker Prasanth Varma and directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru. A few days ago, the actor’s look as Shukracharya was released, and the teaser had grabbed everyone’s attention.
The film, which also stars Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty, Rohit Saraf, Khushboo Sundar, Rakesh Bedi, and others, is slated to hit the big screens on January 8, 2026. After watching the teaser featuring Akshaye, the audience is eager to know more about the movie.
