Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has seemingly backed a social media post urging people to stop speculating about whether women are “faking” their pregnancies.
The actor ‘liked’ a post by content creator Arshia Moorjani, who praised Deepika’s latest maternity shoot while calling out the body-shaming and intrusive scrutiny women often face during pregnancy.
Deepika’s apparent support comes days after she shared a series of pictures from the shoot, featuring husband Ranveer Singh and daughter Dua.
The images quickly went viral, with fans showering the family with love while also revisiting the trolling Deepika faced during her first pregnancy in 2024.
In her reel, Arshia said, “Baby Dua looks just like Ranveer Singh to me! They are copy and paste… I saw a lot of speculation about Deepika Padukone faking her pregnancy with her first baby, which is so crazy to me. The fact that we have normalised it as a society with celebrities is wild to me. Not every celebrity is faking their pregnancy!”
She further added, “Deepika Padukone is not faking her pregnancy. She is clearly pregnant with baby number 2 so please let her have this moment. Stop normalising telling women with different body size that they are faking their pregnancies! This is such a beautiful moment in their lives. She looks stunning.”
In the heartwarming pictures, Deepika posed alongside Ranveer, who was seen holding their daughter Dua.
The family of three smiled for the camera, with Dua stealing the spotlight as she sat between her parents.
In one of the frames, Ranveer was also seen affectionately placing his hand on Deepika’s baby bump.
Sharing the pictures, Ranveer wrote, “Baby Dua and our hearts are getting bigger! Thank you for your blessings! 🧿🙏🏽 @deepikapadukone.”
Earlier this year, Deepika and Ranveer announced that they were expecting their second child.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared a picture of daughter Dua holding a pregnancy test showing two pink lines.
On the work front, Deepika has added another major project to her line-up with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’, following her exit from two high-profile films. The upcoming action thriller marks her sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh.
