New Delhi: There was a sensation in a luxurious hotel in Vasant Kunj when an airline captain died under mysterious circumstances inside the room. The room was locked from inside and when the phone was not answered for a long time, the brother contacted the hotel management. After this, when the room was opened with the master key, the Captain was found lying unconscious inside. On reaching the hospital, doctors declared him dead.
The airline captain was staying in the hotel
According to the police, on September 10, a person working as a captain in the airline had taken a room in Hotel The Grand located in Vasant Kunj. The next day, i.e. on the evening of 11th September, his brother called the hotel manager. Brother told that he is calling continuously but his brother is not receiving the call.
Hotel room opened on brother's call
After the brother's information, the hotel manager reached the concerned room. The door of the room was closed from inside. Amid apprehension of some untoward incident, the door was opened with the help of the master key of the hotel. The Captain was found lying inside unconscious and not responding in any way. Police were immediately informed.
Captain found unconscious in room, died in hospital
Vasant Kunj North police station reached the spot and the Captain was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police also called the crime investigation team on the spot.
Post mortem took place in Safdarjung Hospital
The post-mortem of the body was conducted at Safdarjung Hospital on 12 September. However, the real cause of death still remains a mystery. According to the police, the cause of death will be clearly known only after receiving the final medical opinion of the post-mortem.
At present, the police have started investigation in the case under Section 194 of the Indian Civil Defense Code. Further investigation is underway keeping in mind all the circumstances under which the death took place and whether there were any suspicious circumstances or not.
