Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Deepke launched the 'Fix the School' campaign from his native village Santuk Pimpri in Hingoli, Maharashtra. He raised questions on all political parties regarding the poor condition of government schools and said that no matter which party was in power, adequate care was not taken of the government schools in the villages.
Accused of neglecting government schools-
Deepke, who reached his village on the occasion of Independence Day, said that political parties have not done enough to improve the infrastructure and quality of education in government schools. He said that now people will have to ask questions on the issue of education and hold governments accountable.
According to Deepke, it is important for children to get equal opportunities. The future of the country cannot be strengthened without providing better education and facilities to the children of rural areas.
Questions were also raised on the banners of the tricolor rally.
Deepke also raised questions about the big banners put up during the tricolor rally taken out in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He said that organizing programs related to patriotism is a good thing, but it would have been better if the money spent on big banners put up at various places during the rally was used on the facilities of rural schools and students.
There will be 'audit' of village schools-
Deepke has talked about running a campaign to improve the condition of government schools across the country. He has appealed to the parents to audit the drinking water, toilets, buildings and other basic facilities available in the schools. Sarpanches were also asked to play an active role in improving the condition of schools in their area.
'If you can build a new parliament then why not new schools?'
Abhijeet Deepke raised the question that big projects like new Parliament and Prime Minister's residence can be built in the country, but why better schools are not being built in villages. He said that children of farmers and laborers are also the future of the country and they should get equal rights to quality education.
He also said that in many rural areas children still travel long distances to go to school and some schools do not even have basic facilities like drinking water and toilets.
Demand to fix fees of private schools also-
Along with improving the system of government schools, Deepke also raised the demand for making an effective system for fixing the fees of private schools. He says that education should be a medium of equal opportunity for every child, and not a facility given on the basis of economic status.
