Ruckus increases again at Jantar Mantar: Ink thrown on CJP founder Abhijit Deepke, woman detained
New Delhi : Another major development came to light during the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar on Friday. A woman threw ink on Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Deepke. Immediately after the incident, Delhi Police present at the spot took the woman into custody and started interrogating her. After the incident, CJP alleged that the attack was planned. The party claims that BJP goons were sent to disrupt the demonstration. However, the police have not yet confirmed this allegation and the entire matter is being investigated.

The incident occurred just hours after educationist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk was removed from Jantar Mantar and taken to hospital. He was on fast for several days demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. On Friday morning, citing health reasons, the police took him to the hospital and ordered to vacate the protest site.
Abhijeet Deepke started hunger strike
After Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital, Abhijeet Deepke himself announced to start an indefinite hunger strike. While sharing the post on social media, he said that he himself is now going on a fast to take the movement forward. This demonstration at Jantar Mantar has been going on for the last several days. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and say that justice should be done to the students on issues related to the medical admission process. Different organizations and people continue to come in support of the movement.

High Court had also expressed concern
Earlier, in view of Sonam Wangchuk’s deteriorating health, the Delhi High Court had directed the administration to take necessary steps to protect her health. Doctors had also described his condition as serious, after which the police took action to take him to the hospital. At present, after the ink throwing incident, security arrangements have been tightened at Jantar Mantar. The police is busy investigating the entire matter and the interrogation of the detained woman is going on.
