Big preparations by UP government, good news for block heads

Lucknow. An important administrative change related to the three-tier Panchayati Raj system is going to take place in Uttar Pradesh. After the end of the tenure of the Area Panchayat President (Block Chief), the government has completed preparations to maintain the administrative system smoothly. Now the block heads will work as administrators in their respective areas, so that there is no disruption in the development works and administrative work related to the Panchayat.

New system comes into effect after tenure ends

With the completion of the stipulated tenure of the block chiefs, the government has decided to implement an interim arrangement. Under this, only the current block heads will be given the responsibility of administrator. The process of issuing necessary orders in this regard is being completed so that the functioning of the area Panchayats continues regularly till the new elections are held.

Preparation in the department even on holidays

The government made special arrangements to complete this process on time. Work was also carried out on holidays in the concerned sections of the Panchayati Raj Department to complete the work related to issuing orders. Its objective is to ensure that there is no administrative void between the end of the tenure and the implementation of the new system.

Village head and district panchayat president have already become administrators.

Earlier, similar system has been implemented at the level of Gram Panchayats and District Panchayats also. The operation of related institutions has been continued by giving the responsibility of administrators to village heads and district panchayat presidents. Now, after the block heads also become administrators, all three levels of the Panchayat system, Gram Panchayat, Area Panchayat and District Panchayat, will be run through administrators in the interim.

This interim arrangement will remain in force until the new Panchayat elections are completed or the prescribed period of maximum six months is completed. Whichever situation comes first, the further process will be decided accordingly.
