Lucknow. After tightening the noose on Health Department clerk Ajay Kumar Srivastava, the younger brother of former MLA Mukesh Srivastava, accused in the much-discussed NHM (earlier NRHM) scam worth crores of rupees, preparations are on to prosecute two former CMOs involved in the scams criminally. The Vigilance team has completed the investigation into the cases of disproportionate assets against the then CMO of Gonda, Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava and the then CMO of Bahraich, Dr. Suresh Singh and has submitted the report to the government. Along with this, prosecution approval has been sought against both the former CMOs.

According to the information, Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava and Dr. Suresh Singh are also named in disproportionate assets case and scams with former MLA Mukesh Srivastava. If sources are to be believed, as soon as the approval is received from the government, the Vigilance team will file a charge sheet in the court against both the officers under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The investigation has also examined aspects of irregularities in financial transactions, procurement and construction works related to various schemes of NRHM and Health Department during the tenure of both the officers. In the open investigation against Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava, evidence of disproportionate assets was found.
According to the investigation report, Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava could not give a satisfactory account of the excess expenses and assets of about Rs 11.22 lakh compared to his known income. On the basis of this, an FIR was registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act. At the same time, allegations of disproportionate assets worth Rs 11.61 lakh and financial and administrative irregularities in NRHM items have also been investigated against Dr. Suresh Singh. In this case, Vigilance had summoned many documents related to budget allocation, payment, purchase and construction works from the Health Department. Sources have also said that very soon the employees and officers of the Health Department, who are allegedly linked to Mukesh Srivastava's syndicate, will also be interrogated.
Earlier, the vigilance team had also cracked down on Ajay Kumar Srivastava, clerk in the health department, younger brother of former MLA Mukesh Srivastava alias Gyanendra Pratap. As part of the investigation into the disproportionate assets case against Ajay Srivastava, the Vigilance team had raided locations in Lucknow and Gonda on Wednesday, including the six-storey Millennia Regency Hotel in Lucknow.
During the raid, investigation revealed movable and immovable properties worth Rs 28 crore of Ajay Kumar Srivastava. Former MLA's wife Pooja Srivastava is also a partner in Hotel Regency. Vigilance team had recently arrested the former MLA in the case of disproportionate assets. Let us tell you that Ajay is also an accused in the case registered against Mukesh Srivastava in the NHM scam.

Vigilance Ayodhya Sector team obtained search warrant from the court and raided three locations of accused Bahraich resident Ajay Srivastava. During his posting in CMO office Balrampur, an open investigation was conducted against accused Ajay Srivastava, in which 763.65 percent disproportionate assets were found against his income. Vigilance had registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and started further investigation.
