Lucknow: The process of legally taking possession of the residential plot and luxurious house situated in Dalibagh, a posh area of Lucknow, in the name of Farhat Ansari, wife of SP MP Afzal Ansari, has started today. On the orders of the court, in coordination with Ghazipur and Lucknow District Administration, the administrative action to release the sealed property and hand over the possession has been expedited. Afzal Ansari, elder brother of Mukhtar Ansari and SP MP from Ghazipur, has himself reached the spot with his entire family and Tehsildar.

On the instructions of the court, the team of Tehsildar and Revenue Department is present on the spot at the administrative level to remove the sealing and get proper possession. Afzal Ansari along with his family members are stuck at their property in Dalibagh. The paperwork formalities, seal opening panchnama and measurement process are being completed by the officials present on the spot, after which the actual possession of the property will be handed over to the Ansari family.
Kothi built on about 6700 square feet in Dalibagh
Let us tell you that this luxurious house built on a plot of about 6700 square feet in Dalibagh is registered in the name of Farhat Ansari, wife of Afzal Ansari. On 23-28 October 2022, on the orders of the then District Magistrate of Ghazipur, under Section 14(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act, the Ghazipur Police team came to Lucknow and attached and sealed it. After this, the responsibility of maintenance and administrative monitoring of this residential building was entrusted to the Lucknow Municipal Commissioner.

Farhat Ansari fought a legal battle in the court against this seizure. The Special Gangster Court of Ghazipur had made it clear in its decision in the month of April 2025 last year that this residential house located in Dalibagh is not a property acquired from any gangster activity or crime. The court had given a clear order to the District Magistrate of Ghazipur to open the seal of the house and hand it back to Farhat Ansari within 30 days.
Seal was removed and possession was handed over to the family.
Farhat Ansari had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court when the house was not opened within the time limit. Justice C.D. in Allahabad High Court. Advocate Upendra Upadhyay presented his side before the single bench of Singh, after which the High Court directed DM Ghazipur to pass the necessary order within five weeks. After this judicial strictness, Ghazipur District Administration sent a letter to Lucknow Municipal Commissioner and Tehsil Administration directing them to remove the sealing and hand over the property back. In the same sequence, today in the presence of the Tehsildar, the seal is being removed and the possession of the land and house is being handed over to Afzal Ansari and his family.
Jewelery and all valuables were missing, locks of shelves and drawers were broken.

After being sealed, the house was given under the supervision of the Municipal Commissioner. Today the seal of the Kothi located in Dalibagh, Lucknow was opened on the orders of the court. Municipal Corporation officials removed the seal and handed over the keys.
When Afzal Ansari and his family members went inside, they saw that the locks of the shelves and drawers were broken. Afzal Ansari says that precious jewelery was kept in the cupboards for his daughter's wedding. There were other items worth lakhs of rupees. Jewelery and all other valuables are missing.
