Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is busy promoting her upcoming maiden venture, Don’t Be Shy. On Friday, the actress attended the film’s trailer launch event in Mumbai. The actor, along with her sister Shaheen, was seen interacting with fans and the paparazzi after the trailer launch.
After the event, as she left the venue, several fans gathered around her to take photos.
While Alia obliged fans with photos and selfies, a video from the event has gone viral on social media, showing her bodyguard pushing a fan twice as he attempted to take a selfie with the actress.
In the video, the fan moves through the crowd and comes close to Alia to click a selfie while she is already seen posing with another fan. Her bodyguard immediately steps in and pushes him away.
The fan then attempts to take a selfie with Alia once again, but the bodyguard again shoves him away for the second time.
Alia didn’t react and continued to pose with other fans. However, no clips so far on Instagram show Alia taking a photo with that fan. In fact, Alia has not yet reacted to the viral clip.
Several social media users questioned why fans put themselves in such situations merely to get photographs with celebrities.
One user commented, “Jana hi kyu h pic itni zaroori h kya apni bezzati krane ke liye..: (Why humiliate yourself?)
Another user pointed towards the importance of fans to a celebrity’s popularity and wrote, “Celebrity bhi fan base hei fan nhi toh celebrity kuch nhi..” (Without fans, celebrity is nothing?”
A third comment questioned the fascination with taking photographs with actors: “Why people are obsessed to have photo with these called movie hero heroine, why they need pic (sic).”
Apart from her work as a producer on Don’t Be Shy, Alia is also preparing for her next major theatrical release as an actor.
She will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The film brings her together with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, who also play the lead roles.
Love & War is currently slated to arrive in cinemas in January 2027.
