New Delhi: The AnatEd Summit 2026 kicked off on Friday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. This important conference, titled “Reimagining Anatomy Education—Innovative Strategies for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment,” was attended by leading medical educators, anatomy experts, and health professions education experts from India and abroad.
Organised by the Department of Anatomy, AIIMS New Delhi, the main objective of this conference is to discuss ways to make anatomy education more effective, practical and student-centric in the current era of Competency Based Medical Education (CBME).
Discussion on changes and new challenges in medical education
At the conference, experts discussed in detail the rapidly changing nature of medical education, the evolving role of pre-clinical subjects, and the practical utility of research in medical education. Experts noted that simply teaching subjects in traditional ways is not sufficient today. Adapting teaching methods to suit students’ learning needs and changing technology is essential.

An interesting discussion on the evaluation of anatomy in CBME
