Ather Energy has launched its new Ather Konarc in the electric two-wheeler market Electric scooter It is reported to have been submitted. This scooter is specially developed with family and daily use in mind. The Konarc has a starting price of Rs 99,999 and is based on the company's next-generation EL platform.

Range claimed up to 200 KM

Konarc is said to have introduced a new Bedrock battery system. The range of scooters varies with different battery configurations. The top S-Line model is claimed to offer an IDC range of 200 km on a single charge. The base model has a claimed IDC range of 100 km.

Actual range may vary depending on riding mode, speed, weight, road conditions and weather.

What is the top speed?

The top speed of the Konarc S Line is said to be 70 kmph, while the top speed of the Z Line is said to be 80 kmph. Hence, the company seems to have emphasized on relatively long distance usage along with the daily commute in the city.

What is the 'Airwalk' feature?

The most talked about feature of this electric scooter is Airwalk. Since electric scooters are heavy, it can be difficult to move them back and forth by hand when parking, climbing, or in tight spaces.

It is said that the Airwalk feature will make it easier to move the scooter forward or backward at low speeds with the help of an electric motor. So this feature can be especially useful while parking.

What's special about the design?

The design of the new Konarc has been tried to be sporty while being more family-oriented than Ather's 450 series. The handlebars get integrated LED headlamps, U-shaped LED DRLs and a glossy black cowl.

Apart from this, features such as wide single-piece seat, flat floorboard, pillion grab rail, integrated backrest, front storage and touchscreen instrument console have been mentioned.

Fast charging is also claimed

The scooter is reported to be equipped with a 450W in-built charger. So charging can be done using a normal electrical socket. The onboard charging technology on the EL platform provides a total charging capacity of up to 900W, and it is claimed that the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent within two hours under the right conditions.

Who will compete with?

In the Indian electric scooter market, Ather Konarc is expected to compete mainly with electric scooters from TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Series and Vida. Especially with models priced around Rs 1 lakh, the competition in the family electric scooter segment could intensify.
