Music producer Benny Blanco, who is married to singer-songwriter Selena Gomez, has said he wants couples to feel comfortable enough to fart around each other without embarrassment.
The 38-year-old producer recently appeared on SubwayTakes with Kareem Rahma, where he argued that bodily functions should not become a source of awkwardness between partners.
“Farting in relationships should be completely normalised,” Blanco said, adding that couples should remove that boundary early in the dating phase.
“Like, early on, I want to say, 'Hey, we ate a crazy meal. It was delicious and you don't have to run to the bathroom'. We're farting. It's such a natural thing. Just let it happen,” he said.
Blanco, however, stressed that the arrangement should be mutual, saying a “one-man fart show” would be too much.
Describing his own farts humorously, he said, “Mine are like cartoons. If Bugs Bunny were to fart, that's what mine would be.”
Blanco has also recently described Gomez as the “best person in the world”.
The couple married on September 27, 2025, in a private ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, with around 170 family members and friends attending. Their wedding guests included Ed Sheeran, Paris Hilton, Martin Short and Steve Martin.
Gomez and Blanco became engaged in December 2024 after publicly confirming their relationship in December 2023.
The couple had also collaborated professionally before beginning their relationship, including on the 2019 song 'I Can't Get Enough'. Their joint album, 'I Said I Love You First', was released in March 2025.
