Lucknow. There will be a reduction of 7.93 percent in the bills of electricity consumers in UP in the month of September. Power Corporation has issued an order in this regard. This will benefit consumers by about Rs 604 crore. An order has been issued to reduce the Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPPAS) by 7.93 percent for the month of September.

Earlier, consumers had received a reduction of 4.43 percent in the month of July and 2.92 percent in the month of August. After the clear instructions given by the Electricity Regulatory Commission regarding the calculation of FPPAS, it should now be ensured that adjustments are made only on the basis of actual power purchase cost and permissible transmission charges for the relevant period.
There is relief news for the electricity consumers of Uttar Pradesh. In the month of September, the electricity bill will be less than before. Power Corporation has issued an order for 7.93 percent reduction in Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPPAS) for September. With this, the consumers of the state are expected to get a total relief of about Rs 604 crore.
Awadhesh Kumar Verma, Chairman, State Electricity Consumers Council said that the order for 7.93 percent reduction in FPPAS for September has been issued. Electricity consumers will get its direct benefit in their bills. Earlier in July and August also, consumers were given relief in FPPAS. There was a reduction of 4.43 percent in July and 2.92 percent in August. Now in September the relief has increased to 7.93 percent.
The Electricity Regulatory Commission has also given clear guidelines regarding the calculation of FPPAS. The Consumer Council says that adjustment in the electricity bill should be made only on the basis of the actual electricity purchase cost of the relevant period and the permissible transmission charges. With this, calculations will be done as per the prescribed rules and consumers will be able to get the benefit of real relief.
