Christopher Nolan’s mythological epic The Odyssey is set to make its OTT debut on Nov 17, after a historic and record-breaking run in cinemas worldwide.
The film will be available for purchase and rental on major VOD platforms, including Prime Video and Apple TV, before moving to its exclusive streaming home.
The digital release comes as Nolan honors his strict 120-day exclusive theatrical window contract with Universal Pictures—a rarity in the post-pandemic era previously reserved for hits like Top Gun: Maverick and Oppenheimer.
The extended theatrical strategy paid off immensely, with The Odyssey cementing its status as Nolan’s highest-grossing film ever and the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time worldwide.
To date, the film has amassed $623.9 million domestically and $1.16 billion internationally, bringing its global box office total to a staggering $1.8 billion. It also set a new IMAX record by generating over $540 million globally from premium large format screens.
Starring a stellar ensemble, the epic follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, navigating mythical monsters and treacherous seas on his perilous journey home after the Trojan War.
