Dairy sector got new strength from MOU worth Rs 25 thousand crore, more than 10 thousand cattle farmers participated, CM Yogi sent a special note in ‘Milk Golden Mahotsav 2026’
Lucknow, Read: UP. The ‘Milk Gold Festival 2026’ organized on the completion of 50 years of establishment of the Dairy Development Department concluded. At the ceremony on Saturday, the message sent by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was read out, in which he described milk development as the backbone of the rural economy.
About 10 thousand cattle rearers, milk producers and investors from across the state participated in this two-day festival organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, while lakhs of people connected through webcasting. In the programme, experts discussed in detail the cow rearing of indigenous breeds and modern dairy technology.
Under ‘Nand Baba Milk Mission’, so far an amount of Rs 84 crore has been sent directly to more than 10 thousand beneficiaries through DBT. During the Mahotsav, information was given that 796 MoUs worth more than Rs 25 thousand crore have been executed in the dairy sector, which will create about 60 thousand jobs. Besides, 59 new MoUs worth more than Rs 3 thousand crore were also signed, which are expected to provide 13 thousand additional employment.
About 1.5 lakh milk producers are benefiting from the formation of more than 4 thousand new milk cooperative societies in the state. In the programme, serving and retired officers and employees of the department were honored and successful milk producers shared their experiences.
