A 31-year-old software engineer was allegedly thrashed to death following a domestic dispute in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area, with his wife and her family members among those arrested in connection with the case. The victim, Vinay, reportedly worked in the IT sector. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Dispute Over Child’s Medicine
According to Vinay’s mother, he and his wife Rekha had an argument over giving medicine to one of their children. Rekha allegedly became upset after Vinay raised his voice during the argument and left the house. Minutes later, she allegedly returned with family members, including her two brothers, father, uncle and sister-in-law.
Family Alleges Assault
Vinay’s family alleged that the group began assaulting him after returning to the house. They claimed he was strangled and repeatedly hit on the chest, leading to his death. His parents allegedly tried to intervene and save him during the assault.
Four Arrested, Probe Underway
Police have arrested four people in connection with the case, including Rekha and two of her brothers. Vinay’s family has alleged that the incident was planned and claimed that CCTV cameras had been switched off before the alleged assault. Police are investigating these allegations and the exact sequence of events that led to Vinay’s death.
