The main accused arrested in the case, Hariram and his wife Urmila have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. At the same time, his son Mahesh, who is looking after the building, has been sent to police custody for two days.

Allegations of illegal construction and negligence

During police interrogation, Mahesh told that he used to take care of the maintenance of the building on behalf of his parents. Investigation has revealed that in August 2025, the building was given on lease to a PG operator named 'Hostel Days'.

According to the police, before the accident, rain water and garbage had accumulated in the basement for about 8-10 days, due to which repair work was going on there. Meanwhile, demolition and construction work was also being done for commercial expansion on the ground floor. It is feared that these activities may have affected the structural strength of the building.

The accused fled to Rajasthan after the accident

According to Mahesh, the day the building collapsed, after getting information about the incident from the local people, the family got scared and left the house and hid in their in-laws' house in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The police later caught the accused.
