High alert due to sighting of Pakistani drone on the border in Jammu and Kashmir, search operation of security forces intensified in Samba-Kathua
Jammu. Security agencies are on alert after suspicious Pakistani drones were spotted near the International Border (IB) in Samba and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir. On Saturday, the Army and other security forces launched a massive search operation in both the areas. The area is being thoroughly investigated in view of the possibility of any material being dropped by drone.
According to officials, Army personnel spotted a suspicious flying object, suspected to be a Pakistani drone, at the airfield of forward village Taror in Vijaypur area of Samba district late on Friday night. The anti-drone system was activated soon after. According to preliminary information, the drone crossed the international border and returned towards Pakistan.
Similarly, on Friday evening, a suspicious drone was also seen hovering for some time over Chak Nalua village of Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. After the incident, security forces cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation.
Security agencies are trying to find out whether any suspicious material was dropped through drones or not. For this, intensive search operation is being conducted at both the places. Till the time of writing the news, the operation was going on and there was no official confirmation of the recovery of any suspicious object. In view of the recurring drone activities, security arrangements and surveillance along the international border have been further tightened. Security agencies are keeping an eye on the entire incident.
