In Surat, Gujarat, a female content creator made such a reel that the Surat Police took her into custody. Surat Police said that the woman's name is Simran Patel and she has one million followers on Instagram. The police have taken this action against the creator after posting a controversial video about Mahatma Gandhi on social media.
According to reports, on October 1, 47-year-old Simran shared a reel on her Insta account. In this reel, she is holding a 500 rupee note and is seen singing 'Happy Birthday Dear Gandhi'. Further in the video, she holds the note in an objectionable manner which makes the entire reel controversial.

Now she is apologizing
Surat Police arrested Simran three days after uploading the video. Surat Police also uploaded a video on its X account. In the first part of the video, the controversial reel of Simran plays and later the video of her arrest comes. Surat Police has written in the caption that, the greed to get followers and likes on social media can give you serious consequences.
Who had complained about Simran?
A social worker named Dharmesh Gami had complained about this reel to the Crime Branch of Surat Police. Police registered a case against Simran under Section 67 of the IT Act, which pertains to serving obscene material through electronic medium. Surat Police appealed to the people not to create such content which spoils the social fabric.

Who is Simran?
Simran Patel shifted to Surat after marriage. She has been living in Surat for the last 17 years. She is active on social media and constantly uploads reels or short videos. She has studied till 12th.
