Samajwadi Party has fielded two of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. After that Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded a total of 8 candidates. Today is the last day of nomination and it is expected that Samajwadi Party will field the third candidate. Meanwhile, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has written in a post that now his eyes are not on 3 but on 403. After this, speculations are being made that now SP may not field its third candidate. Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had said that the numbers are being tallied and as soon as the numbers are ready, the third candidate will be fielded.
When Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP and Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Ram Gopal Yadav was asked about the same, he said that nominations are open till 3 pm and if the party takes a decision then nominations will definitely happen. He also said that he cannot say anything clearly. On the question of joining the march of INDIA alliance in Delhi, Ram Gopal Yadav said that there is nothing more important than this.
Akhilesh increased the suspense
Today is the last day of nomination and Akhilesh Yadav has come to Delhi to join the march of INDIA alliance. He has written in the post on his 'X', 'Now our eyes are not on three, but on four hundred and three.' Let us tell you that Akhilesh Yadav's SP has made Ram Gopal Yadav and Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani its candidates. At the same time, BJP has made 8 new faces candidates for Rajya Sabha elections by canceling the tickets of all the sitting MPs. If SP does not field a third candidate, then all 10 MPs will be elected unopposed.

Apart from UP government minister Dharampal Singh, BJP candidates include Radhakant Ojha, Prakash Pal, Vidyasagar Sonkar, Gopi Krishna Pandey, Priyanka Singh Rawat, Ram Pratap Singh and Shruti Gangwar. Among these eight candidates, two women have been represented, while the extremely backward class has got the highest participation. BJP has fielded three OBC, two Scheduled Caste (Dalit), two Brahmin and one Kshatriya community leaders as its candidates.

Let us tell you that Rajya Sabha elections are held on the basis of proportional representation system. In this system, the extra votes received by a winning candidate are then transferred to the remaining candidates on the basis of the second choice of the voters. Leaders from both sides have said that if there are more than 10 candidates in the fray, the contest will completely depend on electoral technical aspects and strategic planning.

After the recent demise of BJP MLA Chhotalal Verma from Fatehabad, the number of MLAs of the BJP-led alliance in the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly has come down to 288. This alliance includes 255 MLAs of BJP, 13 of Apna Dal (Sonelal), 9 of Rashtriya Lok Dal, 6 of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and 5 of Nishad Party.
The Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance has 103 MLAs, of which 101 are from the Samajwadi Party. Jansatta Dal Loktantrik has two MLAs, while three MLAs are not affiliated with any party.
