Mahindra has added a new 6-seater layout to its popular electric SUV 'XEV 9S' range. The company has provided the option of personal captain seats in the second-row of this car. This new seating arrangement is mainly offered in Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above variants. This change has been made to attract customers and families who are drivers in particular.
New layout and cabin features
By providing captain seats instead of bench seats in the second row, the passengers will experience a more comfortable journey. The space provided between the two seats makes it easier to get to the third row. It also gets modern features like lounge desk, snack tray, window sunshades, wireless charging and ventilated seats for rear passengers depending on availability.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Key features and performance
- Engine and Battery: The car is based on Mahindra's INGLO electric architecture and gets three battery options – 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. This motor generates 286 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque.
- Mileage (Range): The 79 kWh battery variant claims a range of 679 km, the 70 kWh variant 600 km, while the 59 kWh battery variant claims a range of 521 km.
- Fast Charging: The 79 kWh battery charges from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes with a 180 kW DC fast charger. The 70 kWh and 59 kWh batteries support charging up to 160 kW and 140 kW respectively.
- Dimensions: Length is 4,737 mm, width is 1,900 mm, height is 1,747 mm and wheelbase is 2,762 mm. It gets 205 mm ground clearance, 527 liters of boot space and 150 liters of trunk.

High-tech features
The SUV offers three 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 5G connectivity, a panoramic skyroof, three-zone climate control and a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system. The top variant gets advanced safety features like Level 2+ ADAS, VisionX augmented-reality head-up display, 360-degree camera and park assist.

Mahindra XEV 9S ex-showroom price starts at ₹20.65 lakh, while the top-end 'Pack Three Above' variant goes up to ₹29.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
