Melbourne Stars by Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) have appointed a new head coach, with the Yorkshire icon taking up the responsibilities ahead of the 2026-27 season. Her appointment is part of a wider restructuring of the club's coaching setup and Cricket Victoria's women's programme.

He also recently worked as an assistant coach with Sunrisers Leeds in The Hundred during the 2026 campaign. This experience could prove particularly valuable for the Stars, given the connections between the English competition and Australia's domestic cricket ecosystem. Before making her mark in women's cricket, Pyrah also gained experience in the men's game. Between 2015 and 2017, he worked in advisory roles with the Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. His prior exposure to Australian domestic cricket will ensure he is not completely unfamiliar with the environment he is entering.
