A case of death of a 23 year old woman under suspicious circumstances has come to light in Muradnagar, Ghaziabad. The woman's maternal family has accused her in-laws of harassing and beating her for dowry.

According to the police, on the night of September 7, the woman had fallen from the terrace of the first floor of her in-laws' house onto the road. He suffered serious injuries in the accident. After this he was admitted to the hospital, but he died during treatment on September 10.

The woman's brother has made serious allegations against her in-laws in the FIR lodged at Muradnagar police station. She says that sometime after marriage, the woman's husband started demanding Scorpio SUV and Rs 30 lakh. It is alleged that when dowry demands were not met, the woman was harassed and even beaten.

According to the FIR, the woman was married in March. Earlier in February, the marriage had broken up over dowry demands. However, later both of them got married in the court on 23 March. The family alleges that even after marriage, the demand for dowry continued and the woman was kept under constant pressure.

The woman's brother told the police that his sister had called him on the night of September 7. She told that her in-laws were beating her. After some time the phone got disconnected. After this, the woman's husband called the family and informed that she had fallen from the terrace and asked everyone to come to the hospital.

The woman's brother alleges that the family suspects that the in-laws first beat up his sister and then threw her out of the house. However, the police is still investigating these allegations.

CCTV footage will reveal the secret of the incident

Police have also received CCTV footage related to the incident, which has been included in the investigation. In the footage, the woman is seen falling on the road outside her in-laws' house at night. After this, some local people are seen gathering around him. In the footage, a person is also seen running out of the house. However, this CCTV footage has not been independently verified.

The police have detained the woman's husband and father-in-law. Four in-laws including the husband have been named in the case. Police have registered an FIR under dowry death, cruelty by husband or in-laws, intentionally causing hurt and other related sections. Police say that the investigation of the case is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the evidence.
