New Delhi, July 11. The standoff continues between the government and the opposition over alleged irregularities in the offerings to Ram Temple in the monsoon session of Parliament and the demand for a discussion in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. Samajwadi Party (SP) has alleged that the government is avoiding discussing the demands of the opposition. SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav said that the opposition has two main demands. First, a discussion in the House on the alleged irregularities in the offerings received in the name of Ram Temple and second, a debate on the related issue in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that if the government is ready to discuss both these subjects then the proceedings of the Parliament can run smoothly.
Why is the government avoiding discussion on the issue of 'donation theft'?
Ram Gopal Yadav said that the opposition wants a detailed and proper discussion on both the issues in the House. He raised the question as to why the government was avoiding discussion on the issue of alleged 'donation theft'. The SP MP said that apart from the country, devotees of Ram living abroad and people having faith in Hindu religion have also made donations and offerings in large quantities for the Ram temple. In such a situation, according to him, the question of transparency in the use of this money is not limited to India only. He said that even for those who have contributed to the Ram temple out of religious faith, it is important to know how the money was used. The opposition is demanding discussion on this issue in Parliament.
Awadhesh Prasad said – there is no opposition from discussion, the government is running away
SP MP Awadhesh Prasad also accused the government of avoiding the demands of the opposition. He said that the opposition is fully ready for discussion in the House and it is not the opposition but the government that is running away from the discussion. Awadhesh Prasad said that the government should debate the demands of the opposition in the House, so that the situation on the related issues can be clarified.
Awadhesh Prasad welcomed the playing of 'Vande Mataram'
Avadhesh Prasad also welcomed the playing of 'Vande Mataram' for the first time from the Red Fort. He said that 'Vande Mataram' gives the message of brotherhood and unity for the entire country. Describing it as a symbol of India's spirit of 'unity in diversity', he said that this should further strengthen the mutual bond between the people of the country.
Awadhesh Prasad said on 'Har Ghar Tiranga'
On the question regarding organizing 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign in Madrassas of Uttar Pradesh, Awadhesh Prasad said that the national flag should be respected in the entire country and the world. He said that the tricolor is not just a cloth bought from the market, but behind it is the story of the sacrifice of countless people in the freedom struggle. He described respect for the national flag as the responsibility of all citizens.
SP spokesperson targets RSS and BJP
SP spokesperson Ashutosh Verma targeted Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP regarding the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. He said that the tradition of hoisting the tricolor on national occasions is not of today, but has been going on since the era of freedom movement. He raised questions about the tricolor not being hoisted at the RSS headquarters for a long time. Ashutosh Verma claimed that the organization did not hoist the national flag at its headquarters for several decades and is now talking about 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. Calling it 'hypocrisy', he demanded clarification from RSS in this regard.
Questions raised on the entire song of 'Vande Mataram'
Ashutosh Verma also mentioned the historical context of the entire song of 'Vande Mataram'. He said that when there was discussion on adopting it as the national anthem, some parts of it were agreed upon. According to him, there was widespread agreement about the opening lines of the song, while the later verses mentioned the worship of Goddess Durga, taking into account various religious beliefs. SP spokesperson said that there are people in Indian society who do not worship idols. Therefore, the selected portion of the song was accepted keeping in mind the sentiments of all communities. He alleged that BJP is now making the entire issue of singing of 'Vande Mataram' a part of political debate.
