A very important update has come out regarding the upcoming installment of ₹ 2,000 of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), an ambitious scheme of the Central Government which provides financial support to crores of farmers of the country. If you are also a regular beneficiary of this scheme and are waiting for the upcoming installment amounting to Rs 2,000, then be alert immediately. The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has made the rules very strict for sorting the list of beneficiaries and ensuring transparency. From Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, Sitapur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri to Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, lakhs of farmers have been identified in whose accounts the money for the upcoming installment may get stuck due to non-completion of the necessary procedures. The government has given clear instructions that under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), money will be sent to the accounts of only those farmers who have fulfilled all the three prescribed technical conditions on time. E-KYC Process: How to do it at home in 2 minutes. To prevent fraud under PM Kisan Yojana, the government has made e-KYC completely mandatory for every beneficiary farmer. If e-KYC of your account is incomplete, the next installment will not be credited to your bank account. There are two very easy options available to complete this: OTP based e-KYC (Free): If your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar card, simply visit the official portal pmkisan.gov.in from your phone. Click on the 'e-KYC' option present in the 'Farmers Corner', enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and complete the instant verification by submitting the OTP received on the registered mobile number. Biometric e-KYC: If the mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, then you can get biometric e-KYC done through fingerprint or iris scan by visiting your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or Jan Seva Kendra and paying a nominal fee of only ₹ 15-₹ 20. Land Seeding: Get the installment registered immediately from Patwari or Lekhpal. The second biggest reason for stuck installment is the lack of land seeding (verification of land records). The digital record of agricultural land is being matched by the government with the farmer's application. If 'NO' is written in front of Land Seeding in your 'Beneficiary Status' on PM Kisan Portal, then your installment will be stopped with immediate effect. To get this rectified, the farmer will have to personally contact his block, tehsil office or regional accountant/patwari or district agriculture officer office with his Khatauni (Fard/Bhulekh copy of the land), photocopy of Aadhar card, bank passbook and PM farmer's registration number. The status will change to 'YES' once it is approved on the state government portal after verification of the documents by the concerned revenue officer. Aadhaar Seeding and DBT Activation with Bank Account The third and most technically important task is to link your bank account with Aadhaar and enable DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Many times the farmers' account is linked to Aadhaar, but it is not seeded on 'NPCI Mapper' (National Payments Corporation of India). Since the central government sends money directly through the Aadhaar based payment system through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), if the bank account is not linked to NPCI, the money is returned as 'Transaction Failed'. To resolve this, farmers should visit their bank branch and submit an 'Aadhaar-DBT Enabling Form' or the easiest way is to go to the nearest post office and open a new DBT-linked digital account with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). The post office account is automatically seeded with Aadhaar within 24 to 48 hours, due to which the pending installments are also transferred directly. How to check your 'Beneficiary Status' on PM Kisan Portal: Farmers are advised to check their status themselves before the date of release of installment so that any deficiency can be rectified in time. For this: First of all go to the official website pmkisan.gov.in. Click on the 'Know Your Status' option visible on the right side of the homepage. Enter your PM Kisan registration number and captcha code and click on 'Get Data' (if you do not remember the registration number, you can get it from Aadhaar or mobile number by going to 'Know your registration no.'). As soon as the 'Eligibility Status' tab opens on the screen, check three main things—e-KYC Status (must be YES), Land Seeding (must be YES), and Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding Status (must be YES). If there is a green tick and 'YES' written next to these three, then you need to be absolutely sure; The upcoming installment of ₹2,000 will be transferred directly to your bank account without any interruption.
