According to the information, Smit Machar's head was broken due to the blow of the glass breaking ax kept in the cockpit of the plane. Smit Machar, who is currently admitted in UAE hospital, has also suffered loss of vision due to this attack.

According to the information, doctors in the hospital of Saudi Arabia reconstructed the bone of Smit Machar's head. Smit is constantly suffering from terrible headaches, weakness in vision and neurological problems. He is being given medicines continuously. According to reports, Smit has said that after being discharged from the hospital, he wants to fly a plane again. Smit has also recorded his statement to the investigating agencies regarding the attack on the co-pilot in the plane. Smit was attacked by co-pilot Hamam al-Hamami on 30 September 2026. At that time Captain Smit Machar was flying a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

During a phone conversation with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Smit had told that the co-pilot of Omani origin asked to offer Namaz. Then five minutes later, he was hit several times on the head from behind. Smit was left bleeding due to this. Despite this he had opened the cockpit door. After this, some passengers on board the plane entered the cockpit and controlled Hamam Al-Hamami. During the investigation about Hamam al-Hamami, it was revealed that he believed in the ideology of al-Qaeda. Due to his radical views, Oman Air even stopped him from flying. After which Hamam Al-Hamami reached UAE and took a job in Flydubai. He wanted to carry out a 9/11 style attack in Israel with a plane in July itself, but postponed the decision after seeing his friend in it.
