Tezzbuzz Desk- Satyawati Mishra, wife of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Governor of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh Kalraj Mishra, died late on Saturday night. He breathed his last at around 1 am in the metro hospital of Noida. She was hospitalized for the last one week due to lung infection. As soon as the news of his demise came out, there was a wave of mourning in the political and social sphere.
The information about the demise of Satyawati Mishra was shared by the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma on the social media platform X. Expressing grief, he said that the wife of former Governor Kalraj Mishra is no more with us. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
After getting information about Satyawati Mishra's health deteriorating, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brijesh Pathak reached Metro Hospital on Friday. He met the doctors and inquired about his health. However, despite the efforts of the doctors, his condition could not improve.
Married in 1963, left entire family behind
Satyawati Mishra and Kalraj Mishra were married in the year 1963. Both of them supported each other for more than six decades. Satyawati Mishra leaves behind her entire family including husband Kalraj Mishra, two sons and a daughter. Political journey of almost seven decades
Kalraj Mishra's political career has been almost seven decades long. Born on July 1, 1941 in Malikpur village of Ghazipur, Kalraj Mishra started his public life through Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He was a Rajya Sabha member three times.
In 2014, after winning the election from Deoria Lok Sabha seat, he took over the responsibility of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. After this, in July 2019, he was appointed the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. From September 2019 to July 2024, he served as the Governor of Rajasthan.
