Mahindra has officially unveiled its much-anticipated lifestyle pickup truck for the Indian market – the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. It is based on the Global Pik Up concept which was showcased back in 2023. This new pickup will be sold as the Lifestyler in international markets. The company has now released the official photos of this lifestyle pickup truck which will be launched in India by April 2027 with prices starting below Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mahindra has developed the new pickup as a global product and this can be noted in the design of this vehicle. The newly released official images show that the production-spec Scorpio Lifestyler has stayed quite close to the Global Pik Up concept. It gets a double-cab layout and has a tall, upright stance which gives it the typical proportions expected from a lifestyle pickup.
At the front, the pickup gets a large honeycomb-patterned grille with chrome detailing. The high-set LED headlamps feature L-shaped DRLs. Meanwhile, the muscular bumper gets vertically positioned LED fog lamps and a large skid plate. The bonnet also boasts Scorpio branding flanked by orange accents.
From the side, the size of the pickup becomes a lot more apparent. It gets chunky wheel-arch cladding, roof rails, side steps and dual-tone alloy wheels. The pickup also gets conventional pull-type door handles. These are better suited to its rugged character than flush-fitting units seen on many new Mahindra SUVs.

As for the rear-end design, the Scorpio Lifestyler boasts vertically positioned LED tail-lamps with a C-shaped lighting signature. The tailgate also features large MAHINDRA lettering along with Lifestyler badging. Meanwhile, the bumper gets the same black-cladded treatment with a silver skid plate with square elements, the same as the front.
Mahindra has already showcased three different versions of the Lifestyler, called Valley, Reef and Trail. The Valley edition is finished in Artemis Grey and takes inspiration from mountain environments. The Reef edition gets an Aquareef finish and is inspired by the ocean.

Meanwhile, the Trail edition gets a Sahara Beige colour and takes inspiration from desert environments. All three versions feature different decals and accessories. Mahindra will also be offering a number of accessories with this pickup truck to make it more rugged and capable on off-road adventures.
Unlike the rugged exterior, the interior of the Scorpio Lifestyler has been given a much more premium appearance. The dashboard gets a fresh design with leatherette upholstery, premium-looking trims and a large portrait-oriented touchscreen in the centre. The screen is flanked by vertically positioned AC vents, while the centre console gets several physical controls.

The pickup is expected to get features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats. It will also get rear AC vents, electronic parking brake, hill hold, selectable terrain modes and drive modes. Level 2 ADAS is also expected to be offered. Mahindra, however, has not revealed the complete feature list yet.
The Scorpio Lifestyler will use a body-on-frame architecture which has been derived from the Scorpio-N. However, Mahindra has heavily re-engineered the platform for pickup truck applications. The new architecture has been stretched to accommodate a longer wheelbase and a large load bed.
Mahindra has confirmed that this lifestyle pickup will use its time-tested 2.2-litre diesel engine. However, it has not announced its power figures. It is also expected to get the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol. The pickup is expected to be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options. Both 2WD and 4WD configurations are also expected with a number of driving modes and other off-road equipment.

The Scorpio Lifestyler will be launched in India by April 2027. Its starting price is expected to be below Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom, as stated by the company. This will put it considerably below the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. It will give Mahindra an opportunity to attract buyers who want a lifestyle pickup without spending more than Rs 25 lakh.
