Sydney Sweeney’s troubles don’t seem to be ending anytime soon as she has once again landed in hot water over her recent controversial collaboration.
The 29 year old actress, who came under fire last year following a viral American Eagle advertisement controversy, has now joined forces with sports trading app Novig.
Sweeney found herself making headlines earlier this week after posting a sensual sports promotion on Instagram.
“Just sports @novig,” she wrote in the caption, sparking criticism from her millions of followers over her nearly nude appearance in the new advertisement.
Online reactions
Shortly after the advertisement gained traction, internet users came forward and flooded the comments section to criticise the Euphoria actress for her selection of projects.
“Why is no one understanding how disgusting this is,” one user wrote.
Another added, “Zendaya didn’t have to do all of this to stay relevant.”

“this is pathetic tbh,” a third wrote.
A fourth commented, “I forget sometimes that she’s suppose to be an A list actress. You don’t see Emma stone or Natalie Portman making content like this. Being a male centered “actress” will only get you so far.”
Sydney Sweeney’s past American Eagle controversy
Sweeney faced widespread criticism over her mid 2025 American Eagle campaign after the tagline “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans” sparked accusations that it played on “genes” and promoted eugenics.
The ad featured a play on words regarding physical traits like hair and eye colour, with many online critics labelling the campaign fascist or a white supremacist dog whistle because of her blonde hair and blue eyes.
Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming project
On the work front, Sydney Sweeney recently wrapped filming for Netflix’s live action Gundam movie in July 2026, with the release date yet to be announced. She will be co starring alongside Noah Centineo, Jason Isaacs, Michael Mando, and others.
