Tata Motors Price Hike: Tata cars will become expensive from 1 Sep, know complete details before buying the car

Automobile Desk: If you are planning to buy a new car in the Indian automobile market, then this is a very important news for you. The country's leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has formally announced to increase the prices of its passenger vehicles. These new prices taken by the company will be implemented with effect from September 1, 2026. If you are thinking of bringing any Tata car or SUV to your home this month, you may have to shell out more than before.

According to the information released by the company, this time the prices of vehicles may increase by up to Rs 25,000 depending on different models and their variants. It is important to note that this increase is not for any one specific category, rather the company is going to implement it on its entire passenger vehicle portfolio. This means that along with traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles running on petrol, diesel and CNG, it will also have a direct impact on Tata's popular electric vehicles (EV) series.

The main reason behind this sudden increase in the prices of vehicles is believed to be rising input and commodity costs. The company says that due to ongoing political and economic uncertainties globally, raw material prices are continuously increasing. Due to the expensive materials used in construction, the total cost of making vehicles has increased significantly. According to Tata Motors, they have been bearing most of this additional cost for a long time so that there is no financial burden on the customers, but now the situation has become such that it has become necessary to transfer some part of the cost to the market.

Interestingly, this is the second time in the current year that the prices of vehicles are being increased by Tata. Even before this, the company had announced an increase of up to 1.5 percent on all its models in the month of June, which came into effect from July 1. Now, with this announcement again within two months, the stir in the auto sector has intensified.

However, Tata Motors is not the only company in the automobile industry to take such a step. Recently, the leading company Hyundai Motor India has also said that it will increase the prices of its vehicles by 1 percent on August 19, which will be implemented from September. Apart from this, big companies like Maruti Suzuki have also already revised the rates of their vehicles citing increase in costs.

In such a situation, for those customers who are planning to buy Tata's vehicles like Tiago, Punch, Nexon, Harrier or Safari in the near future, booking or taking delivery before 31st August can prove to be a financially wise deal. Certainly after September 1, the budget of new customers is going to deteriorate, however, the exact model-wise model rates will be completely clear at the showroom level only.
