The chaos of cockroaches: First the X account, now the website also closed, why is the government afraid of this party with 22 million followers?

A social media trend that started with a sharp comment by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant has now taken the form of a huge digital movement against the central government. The government has taken another big digital action against the new ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ which is creating a stir on the internet. Earlier the official X (Twitter) account of this virtual party was suspended, and now its official website has also been completely blocked by the government. After this big action, party founder and digital activist Abhijit Dipke has launched a scathing attack on the central government, calling it a ‘dictatorial attitude’. 10 lakh ‘cockroaches’ had registered on the website, there was a demand for the resignation of the Education Minister. Abhijeet Dipke, who ran this unique and aggressive campaign in the name of Cockroach Janata Party, made public the information about the closure of the website on his other social media handles. Taking the government to task, he wrote, "The central government has blocked our website. Till now, more than 10 lakh youth had got themselves digitally registered as ‘Cockroach’ members on our website. Not only this, more than 6 lakh people had signed our online petition demanding the resignation of the country’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan through this website."

‘Cockroaches never die’ – Founder also claimed about Instagram hacking. Abhijit Dipke has raised questions on this action of the government and appealed to the youth to unite. He wrote in his post, "Why is the government so afraid of cockroaches? This dictatorial attitude of the Central Government is opening the eyes of the youth of India. Our only fault is that we are demanding employment and a better future for ourselves. You cannot end our existence so easily, we are looking for a new digital home. Cockroaches never die." Along with this, he claimed that continuous efforts are being made to hack not only the website but also his personal and party’s official Instagram accounts. How did this trend start and how big is this ‘virtual party’? This entire controversy went viral through memes and reels on social media after a comment made by the country’s Chief Justice Justice Surya Kant in the court. Within no time it took the form of a socio-political campaign. At present, the number of followers of this ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ on the photo-sharing app Instagram has crossed 22 million (2.2 crore), which is much more than the official followers of many established and big political parties of the country. The main target of this digital party is the policies of the Center as well as issues related to paper leaks and education system. While the opposition is enthusiastic, the ruling party suspects a foreign conspiracy, the political temperature in the country has also risen regarding this digital army with a huge reach of 22 million. On one hand, many senior leaders of Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have started following this account and they are justifying this anger of the youth; On the other hand, leaders associated with the ruling party i.e. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are looking at this entire campaign with suspicion. The ruling party believes that this could be a toolkit or a well-planned digital propaganda to destabilize and defame the government. At present, this digital war is expected to intensify further after the closure of the website.
