This road in Bihar will be 4-lane, great news for these districts
Patna. An important step is being taken towards strengthening road connectivity in Bihar. Preparations to four-lane National Highway-139 from Aurangabad to Naubatpur in Patna in a phased manner have intensified. A new Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for this project on the instructions of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). After completion of the project, travel between Patna, Arwal, Daudnagar, Obra and Aurangabad is expected to be faster, safer and convenient than before.
These districts will get direct benefits
The people of Patna, Arwal and Aurangabad districts will get maximum benefit from this four-lane project. Apart from this, passengers and goods vehicles traveling towards Daudnagar, Obra, Amba, Palamu and Garhwa will also get better road facilities. The new road system will reduce travel time and is also likely to provide relief from the problem of traffic jams.
Traffic in cities will reduce through bypass
According to the new plan, the main highway from Naubatpur to Arwal will be made four lane. Four big four-lane bypasses will be developed from Arwal to Maharajganj in Aurangabad. These include bypasses of Arwal, Daudnagar, Obra and Aurangabad. With the construction of these bypasses, long distance vehicles will be able to reach their destination directly without entering the cities. This will provide relief to the local people from the jam and the traffic pressure in urban areas will be significantly reduced.
Direct connection from Aurangabad bypass to expressway
The most important part of the project is considered to be Aurangabad Bypass. This route will start from near Bhartholi Canal and pass through the western part of the city and will connect with the Varanasi-Kolkata Greenfield Expressway being built under the Bharatmala project ahead of Amba. After this connectivity, long distance vehicles will be able to directly reach the expressway without entering the congested areas like Aurangabad, Risip and Amba. This will also speed up goods transportation and there is a possibility of saving fuel.
New plan to construct four lane from Dhanibar to Pola also
In the new plan, there is a proposal to make the road from Dhanibar village to Pola village a four lane. Construction of four lane bypass from Pola to Hariharganj is already in progress. After its completion, vehicles coming from the expressway will be able to easily move towards Palamu and Garhwa through this route.
Where the bypass is built, the old road will not be four lane.
Under the project, at the places where new four-lane bypasses will be built, the old highway will not be widened. After the bypass is built, there is a plan to hand over the old route to the road construction department of the state government. Only the stretches between the bypasses will be developed as four lanes.
