Punjab Police has achieved a major success against international organized crime. The Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) of the Counter Intelligence Wing, with the help of central agencies, has deported three wanted members associated with Davinder Bambiha gang from Malaysia. This information was posted on X by Punjab DGP.
Punjab Police said the three men are facing charges in several cases including murder, extortion, possession of explosives and a planned hand-grenade blast in Ludhiana (which was linked to Pakistan’s ISAI). The accused Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh have been arrested on arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi and are being brought to Punjab for further investigation.
The DGP said that Punjab Police is continuously working to dismantle the international organized crime network. Wherever the fugitives are hiding, we will find them and bring them to justice.
Earlier, Amritsar Rural Police had foiled a terrorist plot to target a police hideout and recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 690 grams. An electronic detonator, battery, timer and an iron box were also found.
After recovery, the explosive material was handled as per safety norms and defused by the bomb disposal squad. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the law at the concerned police station. Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest those behind this conspiracy. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Punjab is fully committed to dismantle terrorist networks, eradicate organized crime and ensure peace, security and public safety across Punjab.
